1929 R.C.A. Victor Theremin Replica

A functional replica of a theremin musical instrument, using original vintage Radio Corporation of America parts where possible in a replica mahogany cabinet. I hand machined the brass antenna, mountings, nuts, and pilot light and had them nickel plated. Many wood and metal jigs were designed and built specifically for this project. I worked from copies of original service manuals and construction documents from online sources. I learned basic valve circuitry, soldering, and machining skills from this self-initiated, after-hours project.

Since building the replica theremin, I have restored an original R.C.A. theremin and have taken detailed measurements to add to the growing collective knowledge of theremin history. I have been working with others to create accurate cad models and drawings for replica makers and have been creating renderings for a self-published process book.
